Les Gîtes de Guillegorce
Welcome to Les Gîtes de Guillegorce, a spacious, tranquil, private property full of French charm and character. Currently just one gîte, it is located within a small hamlet with a private swimming pool, spacious lawns, patio, TV and Internet access. It is less than 3 km away from the quaint village of La Sauvetat du Dropt which has a boulangerie and small supermarket. It is run and maintained by Bérénice and Mark Swann.
The Farmhouse gîte sleeps up to 12 people, plus 2 babies. It is available to rent from May until the end of October. The gîte has flexible accommodation and is suitable for 1 person as well as 12. If 1 person stays, or indeed a couple, the ground floor is rented as there is a bedroom and shower room on this level. The downstairs bedroom is large enough to contain a travel cot for couples travelling with a baby. For 3 or more guests, the whole gîte is rented.
Guillegorce is situated in a private position at the end of a quiet lane with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is a large fenced pool (12m x 6m) with a Roman step and a large covered terrace. The gîte is surrounded by large green gardens with swings and a slide for younger children and table tennis. There is garden furniture, patio and a charcoal barbecue.
The property is set in the heart of the Côtes de Duras on the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne borders. Bergerac is only 35km away and the famous wine making village of Monbazillac is only 30 km away. Other tourist spots include Bordeaux, St Emilion, Duras, Eymet and countless châteaux.
The gîte has been restored in the style of the region, is comfortable and spacious. It is the ideal location for families and friends to stay in beautiful, quiet countryside. The owners' house is also on site but is tucked away to the rear of the property. Supermarkets and other amenities are all close by but a car is essential.
The pool is heated by the sun only but can reach up to 30 degrees in the summer.
If you are thinking of bringing a pet, please contact us. Our property is not fenced but we do welcome dogs. We have cats on the property as well as hens. 4 llamas grace our field which is clearly visible from the lawn.
COVID-19: For the 2020 season:
Your safety and protection are very important to us. Therefore, during this year we are implementing the following protocols and changes to ensure all our guests remain safe but are still able to enjoy fully their stay here at Guillegorce.
There will be at least 24 hours between bookings to ensure the gîte can be cleaned and disinfected to the required standard. It is very important that check in and out times are respected during this time.
Cleaning protocols include cleaning the gîte as usual then using antibacterial wipes to clean high access areas including light switches, handles and remote controls. Gloves and masks will be used and the gîte will be ventilated during this time. Bed linen will be cleaned using a 60 degree wash and steam ironed as usual. Bathrooms are steamed cleaned as is usual.
As far as possible, check in and out will be carried out remotely. We will remain at hand should guests need us albeit respecting social distancing and wearing masks. We would ask that guests phone or text for help.
The gîte information booklet is available online on our website.
We will ask guests to bring their own towels if they are travelling here by car.
Salt, pepper, spices and oils will not be available in the gîte this year. Similarly, all toys, games, swimming toys and children’s books will be removed except table tennis bats and balls. Bedspreads and cushions will also not be available.
We politely ask that guests follow the simple cleaning list before their departure to aid us in preparing the gîte for the next guests. This list is with the welcome basket in the kitchen of the gîte.
We thank our guests for their understanding during this very difficult time.
“True French Chateau experience!”

Celebrated our daughters wedding in the South of France! True French chateau experience! Located in the countryside but grocery stores, French pastries and several restaurants located just a short car drive away. Hosts live on sight and leave you to experience the true country living by yourself but are available if you need any assistance. Loved our experience there!!!

We had an amazing week in this beautiful, well equipped gite. Berenice and Mark were friendly and gave us great advice on places to go. The exceptionaly clean pool was a joy! Our whole party enjoyed visits from their dog and cats and watching their llamas. It is a brilliant place for families as well as couples. So many pretty and interesting places to visit, so much wine to be sampled, markets to look at and a great food festival in the village. We hope to return soon. Thank you for looking after us so well.
